If you think you are feeling sleepy after taking Melatonin its actually because you are inducing limpness in your body where blood is restricted to the brain and heart and your general cognitive function is impaired, to reduce stress. Deliberately slowing down the blood supply to your vital organs isn’t something to be overly practicing though. Although melatonin may help induce sleep in the elderly, there is no solid evidence to support melatonin’s effectiveness for treating insomnia, at all. Melatonin can also shrink and involutes the thymus gland, inhibit fertility, and increase heart rate. Although natural, Melatonin is only to be used by your body, when it is afraid of the dark.

It’s easy to see after all this that Magnesium is probably a good choice for a natural sleep aid. Although not everything works for everyone, this would be a safe healthy route instead of prescription pills or melatonin with adverse side effects.
