How Magnesium Can Lower Blood Pressure

Results showed that compared to placebo, a daily dose of magnesium over a duration of three months led to overall reductions in blood pressure, while also elevating magnesium levels in the body.

High blood pressure and cholesterol are risk factors of a stroke. Magnesium helps relax the muscles in blood vessels because of its vasodilator function. Research indicates magnesium may lower the “bad” LDL cholesterol that clogs the arteries while raising the “good” HDL cholesterol that helps to clean out the arteries.
