"Random Acts of Kindness"

Sometimes all it takes for a negative to turn into a positive is the kind acts of a random individual. It's easy to forget others when our own individual problems tend to be the main focus of our attention, but the right person at the wrong time can make all the difference in the world.

Donald Carter of Kansas City, Missouri is one such person. After eating at a local restaurant and striking up conversation with an employee named Shajuana, he became increasingly aware of her situation of trying to make it into the medical field with limited funds to achieve this goal. After returning home, Carter decided to create a GoFundMe page for Shajuana in an attempt to raise enough money to help get her into school. The financial goal was met within 24 hours after posting the page. Acts of kindness, however, don't have to revolve around monetary needs. While paying for a meal here in town, I approached a busy cashier that told me he would only be a minute as he frantically ran errands during the dinner time crowd of customers. I responded, "take your time, no rush," in which he replied sincerely, "thank you, that was really nice of you." His demeanor changed to a positive attitude and he wished me a great day. We as people want to hear that we are doing good, and sometimes all it takes is a random person to acknowledge this. Spend some time every now and again to acknowledge the underappreciated and help the helpless: it's not only good for their soul, but for yours as well. PAC Walk - 2016
2017 March Madness Bracket Challenge Winners
"...I have been practicing orthopedics for almost 11 years... I have seen success with the use of magnesium for the treatment of muscle pain, myalgia, rheumatism, arthritis, neuropathy, eczema, and psoriasis as well as sports injuries, ligament sprains and muscle tears... I plan on continuing to recommend transdermal magnesium for my patients to use and give this product my full recommendation."

March Madness is officially over with Mg12's home state of North Carolina taking home the National Championship! With it comes the exciting conclusion of the coveted in-office bracket challenge, a tight battle of sporting knowledge and a hint of luck. Michelle Denton snuck up from behind in points to tie yours truly in dramatic fashion. The prize will be split between us two and I would like to thank everyone here in the office for participating in this team-building exercise!

The 2017 PAC (Pacolet Area Conservancy) Walk will be tomorrow, April 8th. PAC oversees nearly 5000 acres of land in our area and proceeds of the event will be given to help those maintain them. Runners arrive at 9 AM to compete and walkers follow afterward at 10 AM. To find out more on how you can participate or other events PAC plans this year, click here!
